Just when it starts getting really good, it ends 😵‍💫. This story started off strong for me, getting me invested enough in the characters and the deceit to want to see how everything played out pretty quickly. I enjoyed the paranormal aspects, as the shifter stories I'm used to have never included dragons before. What kept this from being a 4 star read versus 3 stars was the abruptness of the cliffhanger and the fact that nothing was really resolved, not even side plots to then build up for book 2. The preview for book 2 also made me a bit mad, as I don't really look forward to the fact that the MMC and his stubbornness will essentially force a 3rd book before I get my conclusion. Ultimately I do want to know how this story ends, but I may wait until I have both the 2nd and 3rd books so I can binge and get to the ending, lol.

Definitely worth the read. I'm generally annoyed at books that end in cliffhangers, but the writing, the storyline and the characters made me want to keep going. My only annoyance is having to continuously change the font size to avoid the pages with a single letter. I'm not sure why some books do that, but it's a pain, especially when I've just reached an exciting scene.

I very much enjoyed reading this. Haven't read one like it before. I read it all at one setting,didn't want to finish it later. I would very much recommend this book to others.
