Dark Desire: A Billionaire Dark Contemporary Romance

This is book one in this series and it features Dylan James and Emily Thompson. I had no idea Emily’s story would turn out to be so much...more than her brothers. She’s tired of being taken advantage of by them. She’s basically the nanny to ALL their kids. Now she wants more for herself. She wants a dom. She wants to be a sub. Sparks fly between her and Dylan James when their three day agreement turns into more. What will happen when she finds out who he really is? When he finds out who she really is?

This book is a CLIFFHANGER, which are my least favorite type of endings, but this one is good and I am now invested. I NEED to know what happens to the last and most intriguing Thompson sibling. I look forward to the next book in this series.

I thought the author did a great job with the delicacy of the intimate scenes. I didn't feel like they rushed through or made it cringy to read. I will say, I didn't like Emily's outburst to her brothers over video chat. It was like she was talking calm the whole time then all the sudden she was yelling. There was no lead up to Emily getting to that point (eg. of parts that could have been added: "my blood boiled the more this conversation went on", "I could feel my anger rising every second as I sat here", etc). Another aspect I didn't care for was them trying the back door (if you're picking up what I am putting down). I guess it could make sense of why the main male character did that and why the main female character allowed it. But logically? I'm not sure how many virgins would want the back door scene as their first penetrative act .... but hey, to each his own. All in all, not bad for a free book. I was most impressed with how the author handled a delicate topic.
