The Chimera Strain (Project StrikeForce Book 2) Kindle Edition
Eric Wise has risen from Director of Project StrikeForce to Assistant Director of the Office of Threat Management. Tasked with preventing the end of the world, he protects John while directing the OTM against a vast sea of threats.
The Office of Threat Management still watches over the world and the StrikeForce technology gives John an amazing edge, but will it be enough to prevent a man bent on attacking the United States and reducing it to a third-world power?
Praise for Project StrikeForce:
"...I hit the ending, where Swaim smashes the reader in the face with a large brick. Once done, still shaking my head from impact, I decided that I'd enjoyed that."-San Francisco Book Review
"...Project StrikeForce is an exciting read. It has action, adventure, intrigue, and violence--but in the guise of a truly well-constructed, well-written science fiction action adventure novel."-Portland Book Review

Project StrikeForce, Book 2
By: Kevin Lee Swaim
Narrated by: Patrick Freeman
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This continues John's story as he was rebuilt into more than a man and used as a weapon. He was wiped of his memories but they came back. If the government knew, they would kill him. Only one man shares that secret. This book takes the team on another dangerous mission and John must once again use his skills and Eric protects John's secret and tries to keep the powers that be from killing the world. Lots of great action, fights, and secrets. Love this series!
The narrator is top notch! Keeps the pace going the way it should and the emotions ready to go!

fantastic shoot em up action. His protagonist is very relatable even though he started out as a totally disgusting villian. Mr. Swaim weaves the thinking, beliefs and actions of a diverse group of characters into a coherent group. (Does EVERYBODY knows John's secret? )
Spend your money and time on an adult, modern action group story.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2015I hate that I am cheering for the hero of this book. A deeply flawed character with a past that make you want to kill him, yet you are cheering him on in the fight against the greater evil. Nothing comes easy in the story. Every step of the way to stop the terrorists in hard fought, but the author throws in enough humor to break the stress and keep you captivated. The sub-plots not only bring more depth and flavor to the characters, they combine together to strengthen the whole story line. Just remember, not all super soldier experiments come with happy endings and sometimes, experiments have unintended consequences.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2015I really enjoyed the first book in this series... seriously enjoyed it in fact. I also read Swaim's other book "Come What May" while waiting for this one to come out. "The Chimera Strain" did not disappoint at all. Again, strong characters, well developed story. It's a fast read with gobs of tense action. I can't believe that this is an independent author and is not with a major publisher... Cleanly written with a high level of maturity. Kevin Swaim is the real deal... buy this series if you dig the action thriller/techno thriller type novels... you'll not be disappointed. The Strikeforce series is on par with books on the best sellers list.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2015Swaim's best book yet. Other than choosing a main characters name that I continue to mispronounce, there's not much else not to like here for military thriller fans. Complex and nasty terrorist schemes and the US cover ops group up to stoping then with a humane take on the super soldier concept. And a minor often humorous side step just when you need a break from the action. Loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2017This book is the second of series. I didn't read the first one, but it is not a problem, because it is not required for understanding the plot. The plot is trite, there is a super soldier dressed in a combat armor which is enhancing his abilities in many ways (streanght, sight, speed etc). This super soldier works for a very hidden and even more secret US goverment three letters organization which is shaping the picture of the whole world. This agency, along with its Russian counterpartner, prevents terrorists' attacks, nuclear and biohazard and any other threats, and without it the world which we know would have already ended at least few times.
Basically that is all - the super soldier and the secret organization saving the world against bad guys.
The book wasn't exactly boring, rather average - nothing special, so I am not planning to read other books from series.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2018A great read from beginning to end! The main character has a keen sense of justice, and is willing to go to extremes to see that justice is done…even if that means breaking the law. That’s enough for me to keep me reading. I found myself cheering him on in his mission to rescue the world from a bad situation. It was geographically accurate...the best I could tell.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2016This book borders on the sci-fi but then when you deal with the government you are always dealing with sci-fi. Mr. Swaim has written a thought provoking book that can be enjoyed by people of any age past the teen years. John did something horrible in his past but is doing his best to make up for it. The changes to his body were not his choice but he uses them to benefit all of mankind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thé long view ...
... is the eay.
Inasmuch as MAP has prevented a nuclear conflict, there is still a need to continue watching the world. This series presents one way to do this.
Good character development, decent editing, respect of the passage of time (you can't get from one side of the planet instantly), and achievable behavior. It all makes for maintenance of the reader's interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars #2 is #1
After reading the first book of this series, I immediately started on the 2nd. I really enjoy this author's writing. Great characters that you get invested in and a cool plot...and of course a steady stream of action to satisfy an action junkie like myself. I'll be downloading the third right now. Thank you Mr. Swaim!
