- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2019I have reviewed several of Linda Weaver Clarke's audiobooks so when she reached out asking if I would like to review this short non-fiction book for her, I was quick to accept. The narrator is one Linda uses on all of her books I have reviewed so far, and as usual, she did a great job.
The book includes quotes from several resources, including the Bible and other religious resources. discussing being happy with yourself and your life. The reference details were sometimes distracting, but ultimately informative and allows the reader to know what reference material to seek if they want to continue their reading of specific details within the short read. While it different that any of her other works I have reviewed, I am glad I was given the opportunity to read it, and would recommend it to anyone who may be interested.
I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2016Searching for True Happiness is a quick read that one can easily pick up whenever they are feeling down or need motivation to do something. It includes a few poems, a few up-lifting stories, and examples of the healing power of prayer. It also includes a few little suggestions that can help someone feel better, like listening to good music or even volunteering at an activity that interests you. Thank you, Linda Weaver Clarke, for making smile today!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2019If you're searching for happiness in your life I really encourage you to read/listen to this book. The first half of this book greatly focuses on service because when help others it also helps us. Then the second half focused on our spiritual life, as a Christian I really liked that there was emphasis on the One who gives us true, lasting joy.
We cannot spread joy unless we are filled with joy!
The author gave me a free copy of this book for a honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2016This new book by Linda Weaver Clarke, is quite different than other of her books which I have read. This book is a book to help you gain a positive outlook on life. It actually gives you some assignments to fulfill and gives many examples of people seeing the good although all around them seems to be things that would only bring despair.
The book even has a story of a German immigrant family who came to America with little. This was a similar story as my own life story because I too, was from a German immigrant family who started out without almost nothing. We too, received the wonderful love and service from others.
The suggestions given to find true happiness in our lives are good ones, perhaps those we know and realize but forget with time.
I think you will enjoy this book by Linda Weaver Clarke as it helps us to know that we can overcome with the help of others and with God.
I was given a ebook copy of this book from the author for my honest review, which I have given.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2016Linda Weaver Clarke's new book, Searching for True Happiness,
shares many ideas for others to engage in giving of themselves. I
believe as a Christian we are happiest when we reach out to
others, because we receive the greatest blessing.
I enjoyed Linda's poems, examples written by other authors that
helped them during their life, and about the suffering of someone
close to her and how God worked through doctors and prayer.
It's known that laughter is a wonderful medicine, and sharing funny
stories as well. Have you ever noticed when a "fun" story is told over
and over...people continue to laugh. They look forward to it. It's always funny!
Serving others, reaching out, just listening, trust and praying for
answers from God, and uplifting music, positive thinking can all
contribute to happiness. Linda shares some assignments to encourage
readers. I think you'll find each one worth while, and the illustrations
she shares are heartwarming.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2016In Searching for True Happiness, Linda Weaver Clarke pulls examples from history, personal experiences, the experiences of others, scientific research, and religious and philosophical sources to define and illustrate practical ways to bring more joy into our lives.
I like this book on more than one level. It is an enjoyable, easy read. It offers practical insight in enhancing your daily life. A number of the stories are quite touching or inspirational. I found the chapter on music intellectually appealing; I even found and listened Mozart’s beautiful Sonata for Two Pianos in D major, and of course found that aesthetically pleasing, but had no way to measure if it improved my intellect.
Finding joy in everyday life will be easier if the reader applies these concepts; this is important since life is made up primarily of ordinary days. More enjoyment turns them to extraordinary days.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2016This is a short fast read. I took it all in during one sitting. But golly if more people took the advice from this book and used it to ts fullest the world would be a different place. Some of the ideas are rather simple but the overall message is profound. Happiness isn't sitting where you'd think. But it's easy enough to find with a little work and a few extra steps. I hope many not only read this book but also take it to heart
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2016This little book (only 47 pages) had a lot of great information in it. It focuses on service to others as a means to happiness. One of my favorite quotes is "Selfishness is just generosity that needs to be turned outward." I never really thought about it like that. Even the most selfish person is capable of generosity and service toward others. I think this is a good book to take to heart and apply to your life.
