Biography
Sports and games have always been a passion of mine. So in early 2016, I started playing Texas No-Limit Hold’em and gravitated toward the game quickly.
The poker math fascinated me, so I pulled out my MBA statistics book and learned how probabilities are determined. I did multiple equations to understand the math at a visceral level.
I initially played free-roll tournaments in the outlying cities of Austin, Texas. When poker rooms came to the Austin area, I began playing there. I continue reading, studying, playing, and evolving as a player. I am fascinated by the game's strategy, complexity, and fun.
Finding gaps in poker math, I released Mastering Poker Math, Volume 1 in late 2018. It has been successful with great reviews.
I continued to study and take notes. Finally, I realized another book was needed that digs even deeper into the math. Thus, Mastering Poker, Math Volume 2 was born. Both books impart my knowledge, experience, and insights into poker math and integrate it with your other poker skills.
My primary education and professional experience are in engineering and business. I have a BSME from Michigan Tech University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. I have mostly worked as a principal mechanical design and development engineer. I am also a Raytheon 6-Sigma expert.
I live in Georgetown, Texas. Besides playing Texas No-Limit Hold’em, I enjoy visiting with family and friends, dancing Argentine Tango, writing, exercising, investing, and traveling. Desiring to give back, I serve as Chairman of the Texas Board of Advisors for ICAN, the International Cancer Advocacy Network, in the war against cancer.
