Biography

I was the kind of girl who never left home without an emotional book tucked under her arm "in case". For me, this was usually an English classic or high fantasy YA with a strong romantic subplot.

When I finally read my first newly-written genre romance novel at the gentle age of forty, I was happily swept away! Once reading romances became a beloved habit, penning my own quickly followed.

Currently, I live in Michigan, USA, with my delightful family, beloved pets, and a busy bird feeder. I do my utmost to write heartfelt stories about memorable characters with a dash of humor and playful prose. If you're a Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Georgette Heyer or (actor) Richard Armitage fan, you're my kind of book friend!

Tough one! I suppose Civita di Bagnoregio... it's a medieval town in Italy, built on a rock that is now only reachable by a footbridge.

Mountains! I love the freshness, the green, the quality of the air.

Pet Peeve

In romances, I detest it when a problem between a couple could have been easily resolved with a good conversation. If they can't talk now, it's hard to convince me they'll have a happily ever after.

Book that Changed Your Life

There are so many... but I will say Robin McKinley's "Beauty" brought me back to reading fiction after years of non-fiction only. Georgette Heyer's "Cotillion" also has brought completely new story concepts and a host of new friends!

Favorite Place to Write

I love to write in a hotel room overlooking water, but home is nice too. It's very lovely to set up in my screened in porch room in the summer.

Do You Listen to Music While Writing? What Kind?

I often listen to music, but not always. Usually I have instrumental music playing, compilations from Austen movies, Bridgerton, etc., but also there are other songs that just seem to fit a story and I listen to them over and over. I have a playlist that I share for each book!
