The Angelscombe Pony Preservation Project has been created to advance the goal of the New Global Church.

Traditional Father Terry has been removed from ministry and put in charge of the programme. His mission, to revive the hardy Dales breed and train the ponies to replace motor transport. The pope has bestowed his full blessing on this endeavour to help save Mother Earth.

But Father Terry’s little community of cancelled clergy is more interested in saving souls. They clandestinely use the ponies to catechise the local populace, and say secret Masses.

Father Godfrey, the youngest of the Angelscombe priests, is struggling to be worthy of his vocation. When the new pope publishes Theologica Nova Populi, a document throwing out traditional Catholic morals, he is terrified that he’ll cave into this false teaching and not attain sainthood.

Meanwhile, Father Terry is thrilled to be back with his first love, equines. Surely, this is God’s affirmation that being a Catholic priest is not his only calling? In fact, he doubts it ever was his true calling.

Satan dangles powerful incentives for Father Godfrey and Father Terry to accept the Global Church’s twisted morals, until a spine-chilling celestial event announces that the time for wavering is over. Will God’s priests serve Him, or follow the father of all lies?
