Description
Holy Guacamole! It’s a cross between ALF and Audrey!
It’s May 1978 and a normal night at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah–until a bogey shows up and requests permission to land. It changes its mind, but by then F-16s escort it to the ground. Later that night a USAF landing party discovers an unusual botanical lifeform onboard. The strange plant and vehicle are loaded onto a flatbed trailer and the18-wheeler heads for Area 51 in Southern Nevada.
NASA astrobiologist, Gabriel Greenley, is called in to study this new lifeform. He always believed he’d be part of something groundbreaking. Was this it?
At first it appears related to a domestic species known as oxalis. As a psi-sensitive, however, Greenley quickly discerns when he attempts to take a leaf sample that this botanical alien is far more—not only is it highly intelligent, but potentially dangerous.
Meanwhile, the specimen, a flora peda telepathis named Thyron, is investigating his new environment through all frequencies of the electro-magnetic spectrum as well as his suite of psychic abilities. His home planet’s only humanoid species worship him as a god. On this hostile world his place in the food-chain was clearly less prestigious. He needed to escape.
But how?
Greenley eventually makes a ground-breaking discovery he can never share, due to his security oaths and research agreement. Even worse, he’s forced to confront an ethical dilemma that leads to a treasonous and potentially deadly decision.
A unique combination of hard science fiction, suspense, intrigue, and a touch of humor, this story has been described as a “dark version of ET: The Extraterrestrial.” Strong characterizations, a mysterious setting loaded with intrigue, and unexpected twists make this tale unforgettable whether you’re a science fiction fan, botanist, UFO aficionado, or simply enjoy a good story.
