Description
When Max returns home from the Vietnam War earlier than expected, he finds his beloved wife, Helen, in their marital bed with her lover. Adultery is the one thing Max will not forgive. Served with divorce papers, Helen goes into a rage, crumples the legal document, and vows that, if it takes her a lifetime, she will have her revenge and reclaim everything she believes is rightfully hers.
Helen remarries a prominent attorney, Morris, and moves several states away. Yet her compulsion to get what she believes should be her is so great that she never stops sending letters, phoning and following Max. With her aging mother living not far from Max, she harasses him and his second wife, Joan, whenever she visits.
When Helen learns that Joan has died, her heart soars. With Morris’s health failing, she shoves him into a nursing home temporarily and sets out to accomplish her goal. Her plan is to gain his trust and then his assets. Her disgraceful treatment of Morris is cruel and abusive.
Max is lonely and it doesn’t take Helen long to shrewdly reinsert herself into his life. Her motives are clear. She plans to disinherit his two daughters and reclaim everything she vowed would one day be hers. Will her evil scheme be successful?
