Description
Who will prevail in the struggle to control the Galaxy? Will it be the ruthlessly efficient Engus, or humanity’s AI-powered ConChain?
Heber Adogan and his sister Durvel are orphans from a near-extinct race of outcasts. They never asked to be made pawns in this galactic game of chess. It’s their unique telepathic ability that makes them so valuable. But it’s the same ability that turned their people into pariahs and led to a genocide, which all but wiped them out. Now their employers at humanity’s secretive Xeno Research Division want to exploit that ability again, to gain the edge over their Engus enemies.
The Engus have discovered clues to the location of a long-lost alien technology that seems certain to upset the balance of power in their favour. If Heber can’t stop them taking it, the very survival of humanity is at stake. To make matters worse, the clues point to a far-flung region of space that is jealously guarded by a reclusive race of inscrutable aliens. No outsider has ever succeeded in breaching it.
Worryingly, the Engus seem to have found a way in though. Can Heber slip through also, and make up lost ground against the enemy team who have gone ahead of them?
Join Heber and his comrades in a chase around the galaxy that turns into a frantic game of cat and mouse, as they try to get the upper hand against the aggressive aliens who massacred his people, and who now have all humanity in their sights.
Senan Mahon’s science-fiction thriller The Blue Race paints a vivid picture of humanity’s future in space, with original concepts that will appeal to fans of Iain M. Banks and Larry Niven.
