Description
When Phoebe falls off a ladder fixing up her cottage, Ryder steps in to help. After all, her ex-husband still owns half the place. Encouraged by his dad Stanley, a Vietnam Vet, Ryder loads his toolbox onto his truck and sets out to win back the only woman he’s ever loved.
Eager to help with the wooing, Stanley secretly drops off dinners, supposedly Ryder’s own efforts. Muscles rippling in the sun, Ryder is being so darn sweet, bringing pastries from the Whistle Stop Cafe and chicken from Roadhouse. He knows Phoebe’s weak points all too well.
As Ryder lays down a new roof and paints the cottage a girly pink at Phoebe’s request, he hopes she can see that he’s not the careless boy who didn’t take their marriage seriously. All these years his father’s kept a secret that could devastate Ryder, while restoring his son. This sweet, funny romance plots a roadmap for forgiveness, reconciliation and a little sweet revenge!
