Description

In 1860, trapper Killian Kilkenny is hunting in the New Mexico territory when he stumbles upon a secret Navajo ritual. The warriors attack and Killian is pinned beneath his opponent, who stabs him. Killian is able to cut the Navajo’s arm and chokes on the bluish blood, which spurts into his mouth and eyes. Just before Killian passes out, he sees his attacker stand up and vanish in a flash of light.

When Killian awakens, he’s shocked to learn he’s now a soldier in the Army’s cavalry. What’s more, even his most severe battle wounds heal instantly. And like a chameleon, Killian can change his physical appearance—he can assume any human form. Killian learns from an Indian medicine man that he has become a Star Blue similar to the Navajo who attacked him. He is essentially immortal; only fire can kill him. Killian is also told of Lupan, a warrior like himself who is intent on exacting revenge against those he feels have wronged his people—and that includes Killian.

For more than two hundred years, Killian fights as a US soldier and battles to keep Lupan from killing innocent victims. But now the CIA is also looking for Killian, intent on uncovering his secret. Will Killian evade those who seek to destroy him, or will he survive to become the Army’s ultimate weapon . . . an almost indestructible soldier?
