Description
In the legendary land of Algar, a kingdom magically isolated from the rest of the continent since its inception, tragedy has struck. After months of illness, King Richard, Algar’s beloved ruler, has been murdered.
Shaken by his father’s sudden death, Prince Caspian calls upon his cousin, Lord Ryland, to assist him in his duties on the throne and to take his rightful place as his royal advisor. Ryland reluctantly accepts the position and postpones his upcoming marriage, hoping to see the prince crowned posthaste. However, Prince Caspian soon crumbles under the pressure of ruling, and his instability threatens to destroy the entire kingdom. Determined to save Algar, Ryland, advised by his wizard cousin, Devin, must decide whether to support the boy or take the throne for himself.
But can Devin be trusted? Caspian certainly doesn’t think so, but Ryland’s loyalty will not be shaken—even when all signs point to him as the murderer. The conflict between the men might just lead Caspian to do the unthinkable: Leave Algar and come back alive, a feat no one has ever accomplished. Can Caspian and Ryland reconcile their differences, or will their feud shatter Algar in two?
