Description
During months of penury from Haiti’s destruction, they selected Inspector Gage Pemberton to join a security team of twenty men. Their primary duty was to give help to the refugees.
Pemberton struggles between his leadership role and his love for his wife, and he realizes his arrogance toward the task ahead fools him. The decision to appoint Pemberton should have been taken seriously by the lieutenant. Who felt overlooked and unacknowledged?
Pemberton’s reality began loosening once he steps foot into Haiti. He’s introduced to his faith and the problems that come with it, surrounded by unexpected fantasies and decisions. The lieutenant is a serpent trying to devour Pemberton’s body. Pemberton kept growing more and more adamant about the safety of his men, struggling with a feeling that he won’t die and refusing to lose hope. Pemberton pondered these words in his heart, “another man’s loss is another man’s gain.” While trying to make the best of the situation, things kept challenging him.
