Description

Sylvie has grown up in a village run by nine elders who have rules regarding everything, from education to procreation. Luckily Sylvie knows how to read and write, but most women do not. When an elder announces that it’s her turn to become a productive member of society, she balks. She’s not ready to bear a child.

While plotting her escape the off limits library calls to her—the beautiful marble building is from a bygone era. Getting inside should be a problem, but somehow she manages to slip by the guards at the door. What she finds inside will change her life.
