Description
Boone Fischer and Emily Durand have enjoyed months of quiet on the tiny island of Caye Caulker. After surviving Hurricane Irma and a mountaintop madman, the two divemasters have finally begun to relax. Big mistake.
Following on the fins of the best-selling thrillers Deep Shadow and Deep Cut, this third Caribbean action-adventure thriller in The Deep Series takes the reader on a whirlwind tour of Belize. From the offshore caves to distant lagoons, from tropical rivers to jungle ruins lost in time, Boone and Emily race to untangle themselves from a deadly plot that threatens to shatter their lives.
You thought that Boone and Emily could only get into trouble in the Antilles, right? Guess again. And if you thought that Nick Sullivan was an actor first and a writer second, you had better buckle up before you read Deep Roots, because he’s about to blow you away with his writing skills. This book is my new personal favorite in his Deep Series.
When the hurricane damage in the Antilles eliminates Boone and Emily’s divemaster jobs, they find work in the Central American paradise of Belize. In addition to reef diving, they now find themselves learning the very specialized and dangerous sport of cave diving. You can just picture the possibilities, right? So did Nick Sullivan.
Just when you think the story is about to wind down, Sullivan keeps throwing in head fakes and ramping up the action. Deep Roots is one of those books that will have you reading until dawn because you just can’t help yourself. Boone and Emily face more danger than ever, and that’s part of what strengthens and deepens their characters. This pair have truly evolved into a franchise, and it’s very easy to envision a long string of great books coming out of their interactions and escapades.
So, give Nick Sullivan’s regards to Broadway, he won’t be back anytime soon, he’s too busy writing great books!
