Description
My eighteenth birthday isn’t what I expected—instead of partying with my friends, I find myself in a hospital, battling a cancer that resists every treatment. I feel hopeless and ready to give up when a mysterious, beautiful man offers me a deal: he will take my cancer, relieve my parents of the burden of medical bills and emotional pain, and in return, he will come for me when I turn twenty-five. I accepted, and suddenly, it feels like my life is starting anew.
With my new lease on life, I seize the opportunity to make up for lost time. I make friends, adopt stray cats, find a steady job, and search for my Mr. Right. It would be great if Death wasn’t hanging around, annoying me, threatening me, and being so damn irresistible . . . and constantly reminding me of my impending doom.
To make matters more complicated, it seems that I have attracted the attention of other creatures besides Death. Misfortune follows me wherever I go, affecting my family, my home, and my work. But I refuse to back down or hide. Instead, I confront Death, insisting on my independence, and challenge whoever or whatever is trying to harm me.
Little do I know, the key to saving my life lies in falling in love with Death. It’s a twist I never anticipated, but it may be my only way to survive.
