- The stressful feelings from trying to pack the right books that you’ll be reading on a vacation, but also having to keep room for less important items, like clothes.

- Except for those unforgivable times when they let their author kill them off and you cried for days.

I am number 21 sometimes I have to stop reading for a while, so I can readjust to the characters in my unbook world. The non-reading time doesn’t last long though.
Been seen that Done that all of them is meeee, I was just thinking how can I copy all the books from the app on my mb to my computer then to my external hard drive I would never be without a book EVER lol

This reminds me of 62 years ago when I was told I embarrassed my mother by trying to caged strangers to buy me books off of the kiddie racks. Gee, at 65, I think I still beg. Wanna buy me a book. Please. I am holding a stack of ten, but…it worked when I was 3.

I am one of those readers who will cry if one dies. If they break up I will cry. I do put myself in the book I’m reading. I have even went back later and said let’s watch that movie, and I would remember it was a book. That says it is a very well written book!!!!!
That’s so so True! Describes me to the T. Each one had me grinning like crazy. We went on a holiday overseas and 1 whole suitcase was filled with books that have to be read. The hubby was not amused! Also he won’t, just won’t, go into a book store with me…..he rather goes to the pub and has a few frosties to calm himself down as he just knows there is no way I am gonna come out there with out having spent copious amounts on “Books of all things!” Eventually he bargained with me to buy a kindle so he can stop building bookshelves. I can’t seem to part with my best friends……….and that’s what they are, my best friends………….

LOL. This is so me. My father-in-law told me once it they were dropping money out of a plane I wouldn’t go out to pick it up if I’m reading. Haha
I have been reading , seems like forever. Can remember sneaking the books out of my Father’s dresser drawer. He thought I didn’t know where he kept them. I am 77 now and have over 1800 books on my Kindle. They are my best friends. I also have bookshelves full of books I just can’t part with. I am so glad someone else besides me is “A Book Wyrm.”

An author recently wrote that there is a Japanese word for having far more books than you can ever read: tsundoku. The question was whether there is a word for the same in ebooks. I suggested etsundoku and admitted I have it. Sort of. Almost. Shhhhhh! There is a particular kind of delight at having a wealth of “what I can read next” at my fingertips, and an eagerness to get to it! And my library can go anywhere I go. It’s okay to leave the vast majority sitting in in my purchase library because I know right where to find any of them. But then it seems the one I really, really want to dive into next has yet to be downloaded–and those few seconds of delay are torture! Your comments sound like you all understand. (Wipes a happy tear and reaches for e-reader.)

Here I am at 12:30 AM, looking for free books to download on my Kindle. I have so many already they cannot download, but have to wait their turn. I buy special ones that I want to keep in a collection, but usually wait for a sale. I have many books, hardback and paperback, but I use my Kindle because it is easier for me to read. I have a paperwhite, and the print is adjustable. I just wish some of my old favorites were issued in e-book form. I am 82, and have read since I learned to read in the first grade in 1941. TV can’t compare with a book, in my book!

Never enough time to read all the books I want. I have retired, who needs sleep. I can read all night if I want to and I do it more than I should. It’s wonderful!!

I am a wyrms and proud of it! That is why I love my Kindle; I can take hundreds of books with me where ever I go:-) And I have my kindle app on my Iphone, do I need to say more:-)
I thought I was was reading my biography, both the “23 Things Only True Book Wyrms Understand” & the comments! I’m sitting in my recliner at this moment with a Kindle in my hand & two “real” books on the table beside me. It’s Saturday & I’ll alternate reading from each all day! Does this mean I’m a book wyrm?! ??? My late husband was a kindred spirit. ??????

Hoooboy! Me to a T! I know I would ‘simply die, oh yes I would’ if I could not read! I grew up wt my nose in a book; it mattered not what the subject was… I read Everything. I’m older than the gods, and still absolutely Have to read every single day!
How about being the kid who held the book up if you were in the car at night so you could read by the lights of the car behind you.
Or remember the little light on the electric blanket control so Mom wouldn’t see an extra light in your room.
Or,”I’m coming! I just have one more page in the chapter.” Then, Mom says, “How many chapters ago was that?”

I also have 4 Kindles, I have physical books piled on and under the dining room table because the bookshelves are full. My first fire keeps telling me I have a shortage of storage. I love reading and going places that don’t cost a bunch to visit. I love being a Bookwyrm!
way to go…..I have old books stashed everywhere….and caramels to go with them, sometimes chocolate……I also worry what would happen if an EMP happened and all our books on Amazon are gone…..yup, that’s my big worry…..
I have a set of books published in 1897, I worry about EMPs but hurricanes too. Can I pack all my books in the car and leave my husband and cat to come in the truck? I wonder if there is a way to print a list of all the books we have on our Kindles in case EMP happens?
Hmmmmm… I think I will do likewise, printing up the book list…..but would the big Amazon honor our previously purchased books, an reinstate them?
It came to me that if I downloaded via the usb cable that we used in the beginning to get the books to our computers, and load then loading on the old kindles that it might be a way yo save something to read…..because if you be a bookie wyrmie, not having something to read will just about kill you……
but then there is always the family Bible, or Torah….our families have multiples of both……comparitive religions was my minor a million years ago in college…….
I told my husband “There is no such thing as too many books…that’s like saying there’s too much air in the atmosphere.” I just went to “Manage your devices” right mouse click and print, it was only 5 pages, so if there’s an EMP or hurricane coming I know I can do that. I’ve tried buying local, but local never has what I want.
Well, I sure hope they will, without us they wouldn’t be in business, I know I buy other things from them as wll.
we live very in a rural area, so just about all I buy is on Amazon. So ! understand…..but by and large the books are most important!

I couldn’t stop laughing about bookworms, OK ,OK wyrms…..Back in the reallyreally old days all we had were books made of paper….I checked out an obscure British book from the adult library ( having long since out read children’s books and insisted on meat and potatoes) and it did truly have a dead book worm in it; I figured the poor thing died happy! I hated the Kindle back in the first days of it, you know the big ones……then I started asking for every iteration because if one can handle 1000 books then each one I get another 1000 books…..Now I have 4 Kindles and one Kobi, (not my favorite) 4000 books is like the little library in Burbank in the 50’s….my hope is that I live long enough to read them, but then I will have to be more ancient than I am because I can’t stop buying them……
back to the Fire, nope work, the book fire…….
My honey is verrrrry understanding…he’s just glad i dont gamble or want fancy trips or jewelry….But we do travel dont we, all over the world in our heads thanks to books!

I am older than dirt but I loved the Harry potter books. In the 1950’s when I was in junior high and high school, I was famous for walking around our small town, reading a book while crossing streets without missing abeat. If I happened to pass the park, I would lie down on the grass or sit on a swing and continue reading until it was too dark to see .Going on 75, my wife considers me hopeless.
